I just wanted to say Thank you, Jack has never had a true professional like yourself show him the Art of Pitching. I say the Art of Pitching because your approach is masterful. When Jack met with you for the first time last year, you left an impression. We knew the time was closely approaching for Jack to receive professional lessons, as parents we waited in Jack’s best interest and I ‘m glad we did because we have yet to meet anyone like Scott Nelson. We look forward to a great friendship.

Since our son has been a student of Jim Donovan’s, he has excelled as a player and athlete. Jim has taught him how to be a team player and showed him the true meaning of the game. Jim has not only instructed our son on enhancing skills and mechanics, he has developed Bobby’s self confidence and self esteem. He has put the spark of baseball in our son’s eyes. He is the “best” and we are eternally grateful to him. Our son loves and respects Jim for all the help he has given and continues to give, and so do we.

Scott Nelson is never rigid in his opinions and always leads you to the best answer, letting you make the choice. Scott has a special talent with youth players because he gets them to open up, challenges their thoughts, and then enhances a player’s ability to manage aspects of the game that are under their control. Their game improves because they internalize the skills Scott helps them experience through correct sensations, feel and self-realization.

Bruce Morgan is the most important person in my kids’ lives. They love him and he loves them. They work hard and the results of their improvements are both measurable and tangible. Bruce makes the work fun and he is the most positive person we have ever met. If people could see the before and after in my kids abilities, the entire state of Illinois would be here! We are so grateful to have found Bruce and can not thank him and STRIKES! enough.

STRIKES! is a place where the trainers are friendly, players respect one another, and have fun improving their skills. If you love baseball, and want to improve, this is the place for your son or daughter. It’s a family type atmosphere, where everyone knows one another by their first name.

STRIKES! inspires my son and has helped him develop his love for the game. STRIKES! is the best place for your son to learn the fundamentals from instructors who care about your kid and want him to get better.

I have been involved in organized baseball for many years, having coached both league teams and travel teams. The instruction and instructors at STRIKES! are simply the best. They are both informative and supportive with the kids. Technically, they really understand the game but more importantly, they are able to communicate their information in a way that is practical and understandable, thus helping kids realize their potential.

The instructors are great role models for kids in teaching the game the right way in terms of respect for the game. I cannot say enough good things about STRIKES! and would recommend STRIKES! to anyone who wants their kid to get the best instruction available.

Seven years ago my nine-year-old son had his first lesson at STRIKES!. During that half-hour, they had him working harder than I had, as his father/coach in four years. He has been taking weekly lesson non-stop for seven years with almost every instructor. STRIKES! made him work harder and gave him that love for the game. Not only are they teaching him hitting, pitching, fielding and throwing, they are there to get him noticed by the college coaches. I’m a proud father and I thank STRIKES! for giving my son that love for the game.

My son has learned the finer points of baseball. Not only the game itself, but sportsmanship, team play and the desire to succeed. He has learned what it takes to be a better ball player.

Since coming to STRIKES! I have noticed many beneficial effects for Nicholas. We have had two AWESOME instructors who have been very friendly, patient and encouraging while helping Nicholas improve his skills and knowledge of the game.

Before Justin started with Scott Nelson, he was a step behind all the other kids. In a short time, Scott was able to correct Justin’s mechanics, therefore, improving his speed and control as a pitcher. He also improved his fielding at shortstop and centerfield. Scott’s patience and knowledge has paid great dividends. I would recommend STRIKES! to any and all serious baseball prospects!

Watching your lessons always gives me ideas about what I need to do with our hitters at school. It is more valuable for me then any of the clinics I will go to and listen to someone talk about hitting. Here I can watch someone who successfully works with hitters all the time. I also attentively watched Scott’s pitching lesson with the eighth grader from Oak Park who you had given a hitting lesson. He obviously does a great job with pitchers. That kid seemed to have some real ability on the mound for someone not yet in high school. Just wanted to let you know how valuable it always is for me to observe you at work.

My son has worked with both Jason Shelly and Scott Nelson. He has improved dramatically! Not only his physical skills but his mental approach to hitting, pitching and fielding. We are constantly using drills at home that we’ve learned at STRIKES!. I am very pleased with the approach and demeanor of the entire staff. I’ve been coming to STRIKES! for a long time and it is a great place to be! Not only is it fun, but the instructors are the best! They know what they are talking about and help make you a better baseball player. The facilities are great and the atmosphere is fun. STRIKES! is a place that is very comfortable to be at and have fun at but still take baseball seriously.

I was impressed on our first visit here! Sean Lawrence became our regular pitching and hitting instructor and I could see my son working harder and harder to reach a goal which carried over into more then baseball. When you go into STRIKES! you bump shoulders with some of the best people in the area. What we get from STRIKES! will stay with us long after our baseball/softball days are over!

I was a pitcher at University of Illinois some years back. You would think that I would have been able to teach my kids the fundamentals and finer points about baseball, but I struggled for a few years while trying. Luckily, I found STRIKES!.

From the first day, my kids started learning, but more importantly, began loving baseball more than ever. The instructors at STRIKES! are great. Not only do they dissect swing and throwing mechanics, but they make it fun for the kids. They relate to the kids in ways dads can’t. Both my kids have become better ballplayers but are also becoming more confident. By watching, I’ve been able to learn myself and become a better baseball coach for my kids and for the other kids I coach in Little League, Babe Ruth and traveling baseball.
